For this episode, we're joined by the legendary Bjørn Dencker, better known to metal fans as Aldrahn.
A founding member of Fatal Strategies fave Dødheimsgard, Aldrahn played a key role on such classics as Kronet Til Konge (on which he also played guitar and wrote much of the music), 666 International, and A Umbra Omega. Along the way, he also lent his distinctive vocals to albums by Thorns and the Deathtrip (the underrated Deep Drone Master), among others. Over the past decade, he has turned his attention to Urarv, whose new album, Nychta Psychis, coming October 16 (that’s tomorrow) via Darkness Shall Rise Productions.
In this interview, we hear about the evolution of his unique vocal style, his connection to dogs, the influence of psychedelics, and the general madness of the 666 International era. We also hear about the origins of Urarv as well as his still-unheard hip-hop project Eki Aum, along with his thoughts on hip hop in general. Toward the end, we also get an update on the long-awaited second Thorns album as well as some more info on the new Urarv album.
