Midweek Madness - Crises Abound | Championship Lowdown
The Championship delivers another extraordinary round of midweek action, with 45 goals, dramatic comebacks, red cards and mounting pressure on managers across the division.
Tom and Adam are back to review all 12 fixtures, starting with another disastrous evening for Watford. After losing 4-0 to Burnley on Saturday, Alessio Dionisi's side are demolished 5-1 at Cardiff City, conceding four first-half goals for the second game running. Is another managerial change inevitable at Vicarage Road?
Elsewhere, Birmingham City continue their impressive form with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Preston North End, leaving Graham Alexander with an enormous job on his hands. QPR put four past Derby County as the Rams' struggles deepen, while West Brom come from behind to beat Wrexham, increasing the pressure on Phil Parkinson after another disappointing result at the Racecourse.
Portsmouth claim a dramatic 3-2 victory over ten-man Sheffield United, although John Mousinho is far from happy with everything he sees at Fratton Park. Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers produce one of the results of the round, stunning Wolves 3-1 at Molineux just days after their frustrating defeat to Stoke.
Then it's time for our Six in Six! Middlesbrough strengthen their promotion credentials with a dramatic late winner at Stoke, Southampton edge Norwich at Carrow Road, and Swansea continue their excellent start with a hard-fought victory at Millwall. West Ham put six past nine-man Lincoln, Burnley concede a stoppage-time equaliser against Charlton, and Balázs Tóth produces a goalkeeping masterclass as Blackburn somehow win away at Bristol City.
All 12 Championship games covered, with the biggest talking points, managerial reactions, standout performances and plenty of debate!
