Welcome to the latest episode of Talking Meds and the PrescQIPP podcast, engaging conversations about medicines-related dilemmas. Today, your host Jonathan Underhill, Medicines Clinical Adviser at PrescQIPP, welcomes back a former guest Philip Newland-Jones and says hello to a new guest Sarah Le Brocq to talk about obesity. In particular they discuss the health inequalities we are seeing with regard to access to new obesity medicines and the challenges this brings. They also look to the future, and what developments we can expect in this area.

Philip is a Consultant Pharmacist in Diabetes and Endocrinology and leads a large dynamic team at University Hospital Southampton. He works at a National level on various committees including being the lead pharmacist for the NHS England Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinical Reference Group.

Sarah is a leading UK obesity advocate, speaker and founder of All About Obesity CIC — an organisation transforming how obesity is understood, treated and supported across society. Sarah has lived experience of obesity and has over 16 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and NHS. She sits on several national committees, including those at NICE and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Obesity, helping to shape national policy and practice.

Sarah is dedicated to challenging stigma, advancing research and ensuring that the voices of people living with obesity are heard at every level of decision-making.
