Paris has a packed weekend ahead, with live music, street festivals, cinema, dance, photography and family-friendly events filling the city from Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11.

Tonight, film lovers can head to the Louvre Auditorium Michel Laclotte for the opening of I Louvre Mucho, a Spanish cinema showcase curated by actress Rossy de Palma. At 8 p.m., de Palma will discuss her selections with journalist and critic Aureliano Tonet before a screening of Carlos Saura’s Sevillanas. The program continues through October 18.

For live music, Panchiko performs at La Cigale at 7 p.m., while Gavin DeGraw takes the stage at the Bataclan at 7:30 p.m. Natalie Dessay presents a program devoted to Claude Nougaro at the Bal Blomet. Theater fans can also see Les Bonnes at the Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet, Ubu Roi at the Théâtre de Paris, or Drag Race France Live, Saison 4, at the Casino de Paris.

Art enthusiasts have several choices. Made in Situ opens at the Galerie des Gobelins, featuring contemporary designs made with materials including carved wood, black ceramics, slate, bronze and azulejos. The exhibition runs until November 29. The Salon de la Photo continues at the Grande Halle de la Villette through Sunday, making Saturday or Sunday a good time to explore cameras, photographic techniques and visual creativity.

Saturday brings the Fête des rues aux écoles, a free, family-friendly celebration designed to give streets back to pedestrians. In Paris Centre, activities run from 10 a.m. to noon on Rue Colbert, Rue Louvois and Rue Lulli. In the 16th arrondissement, festivities continue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Rue Gustave Zédé, Rue Musset and in the Oasis courtyard of École Chardon-Lagache.

Music continues Saturday evening with Wu Lyf at Le Trianon at 6:30 p.m. Families may also enjoy the International Circus Festival of Les Mureaux, running through Sunday in the Paris region, with aerial hoop, juggling and clown performances.

On Sunday, browse one of the large brocantes taking place just outside Paris in Hauts-de-Seine, or return to the Salon de la Photo before it closes. If you are traveling today, check transport updates first: a nationwide strike is expected to disrupt some trains, particularly services toward Cherbourg, while Paris public transport may also face construction-related changes.
