Have you ever looked at your schedule and thought, Technically, I have time for this… so why does adding one more thing feel impossible?
We spend so much time trying to manage our time as moms, but time isn't the only resource we're working with. We also have a limited amount of mental, physical, and emotional capacity available to handle what our lives are asking of us.
And when you're constantly operating right at the edge of that capacity, the consequences can start showing up in places you may not expect.
In today's episode, I'm sharing a moment I witnessed between another mom and her husband that made me think about how easily we underestimate the capacity consequences of seemingly small changes in our schedules. Especially during a busy back-to-school season, the answer isn't always figuring out how to fit more into your available hours.
Sometimes we need to stop asking, “Do I have time for this?” and start asking, “Do I have capacity for this?”
Your life changed. Your capacity changed. It's time to stop expecting yourself to carry it all the same way.
