Season 2! Episode 15!
So excited to have my friend Dylan Mertz on the show this week (HERE). Dylan is a trainer out of JackedNLean Gym in Rogers, MN. We've had the owner Jack O on in previous episodes.
In this episode Dylan talks about his journey to becoming a trainer. Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at an early age and having to adjust to this life altering diagnosis fast. 30 years ago this would have been a death sentence, but with advances in medical treatment and an extremely healthy diet, Dylan is not surviving... he's thriving.
His ultimate goal is to get his IFBB pro card as a bodybuilder, and he's currently in preparation for his first bodybuilding show. We also discuss Dylan's introduction to personal training. How he thinks about working with clients, and how he's evolved in his own training.
This is an awesome, inspiring episode and you definitely don't want to miss this one!
I'm hoping to finish my new book in the next few months, with the same title as this podcast. In the interim if you love the show and want to support, I'd appreciate you picking up a copy of my first book "How 2 Look Good Naked".
I've also recently launched a new Substack page with the same name as this podcast "Exercise is Bullshit". If you're a fan of the show I hope you'll consider checking out my substack. It contains all of my podcast episodes as well as weekly articles dispelling common fitness industry myths.
