Can Drake Maye Solve His Biggest Problem?

Mike Giardi breaks down the Patriots’ upcoming matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the biggest challenge facing Drake Maye early in the season. Giardi examines how defenses have increasingly attacked Maye with split-safety looks designed to eliminate explosive plays, why patience and discipline remain critical to his development, and what Josh McDaniels wants to see from his young quarterback. He also explains why processing post-snap rotations and disguises will take time as Maye gains experience. Then, Mike turns to Aaron Rodgers and how the Patriots defense could approach the veteran quarterback, including the importance of pressure, forcing turnovers and limiting Pittsburgh’s passing game. Plus, he breaks down the Steelers’ dangerous pass rush, potential weaknesses New England can attack at linebacker, the Patriots’ offensive line challenge and what TreVeyon Henderson’s return could add to the offense.
