A limiting belief is an idea, not proven, but deeply believed that says, one way or another, you will not reach your desired goal. They can be operating behind the scenes until you bring them out into the open to challenge them.
Limited beliefs can be handed to you by others. "You're not the kind of person who is smart enough for that," or "You're too emotional. You make everything bigger than it is," or "You're not beautiful enough. What a shame you might never..."
Limiting beliefs can also be developed from an incident that happenes in your life, and it's no surprise, for many people they develop in childhood.
