Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 52-year-old father of three who was shot and killed by an ICE officer during an immigration operation in Houston. We look at the contradictions in the case, why Lorenzo's family is demanding an independent investigation, and how ICE keeps relying on familiar claims about "perceived threats" and vehicles being used as weapons to justify deadly force. I also place this case in the broader history of policing, immigration enforcement, and the expanding power of the carceral state.
