Joshua Devereux is a Jewish American who served in the 82nd Airborne Division before spending five years as an officer with the Houston Police Department. Along the way he became an Army Combatives instructor, trained under Sgt. 1st Class Kevin D. Rice (master trainer at the U.S. Army Combatives School, Fort Benning), and competed in MMA.
In this episode of Frontline Israel, Joshua joins host Doron Keidar to discuss what combat and the cage taught him — and how that same discipline now shapes his fight against a very different kind of threat: coordinated online disinformation and antisemitism campaigns.
We cover:
- His path from the 82nd Airborne → law enforcement → the world of combatives
- What he’s seen change in the information war over the past few years
- What it actually takes to counter propaganda at scale, rather than just react to it
A conversation about real-world experience meeting the modern information battlefield.
