Meet Luís Alves da Costa - Lisbon’s Punk Rock Lawyer.
In this extended People Of Lisbon conversation, we spend the day with Luís: tax lawyer at Fresh Legal Group, metalhead, surfer, guitar player, husband, father of three and one-time aspiring rock star.
At his home in Lisbon, Luís talks about growing up in Porto, dreaming of playing Wembley, his many unsuccessful garage bands, his love of AC/DC and Metallica, becoming a lawyer, ditching the suit-and-tie version of himself, and balancing work with family life.
There’s also a photograph of Luís as a child with his mother that he keeps beside his desk. On the difficult days, he looks at that kid, reminds himself how far he’s come, and gives him a little fist bump.
We then head out into Campo de Ourique, find the tree where Luís likes to sit and ponder life — which we officially name Angus during the shoot — before visiting Fresh Legal Group and discovering what life is actually like inside a rather unconventional Lisbon law firm.
