Adrian Goldberg hears from Dr James Smith, deputy director of the humanitarian policy and practice programme at UCL, London. Dr Smith is volunteering in Al Mawasi – a coastal region of Gaza – which has become homes to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians displaced by the conflict with Israel; and where people are waiting anxiously to see if a ‘peace plan’ announced last week by President Trump will become a reality.
