Your Process Is The Path

What makes a creative life possible? One thing it’s not is knowing exactly what to do next.

“The path reveals itself as you walk on the path” can sound metaphysical. But in practice, it’s often messy, uncomfortable — and surprisingly technical.

This week I’m using the evolution of this very podcast as an example: written pieces, audio, video, teleprompters, microphones, stats, wrong turns and, now, two record buttons that don’t even count down at the same speed.

Because the path isn’t a set of instructions. It’s a process of responding, recalibrating and being willing to walk into new territory before you know exactly how it’s going to work.

The path is the process.
