"Comparison is the thief of joy.” – Theadore Roosevelt
In Part 2 of their conversation with Jay Stark and Woody Woodard, Logan and Tyson go deeper into the real-world application of the D.R.I.V.E. framework — and things get personal.
Now that you know what D.R.I.V.E. is and what motivational type you might be, the question becomes: what do you actually do with that information? Woody and Jay break down how understanding your drive — and the drives of the people around you — can transform your relationships, your business, and your mental health in ways that very few other tools can.
One of the most powerful concepts in this episode is the Platinum Rule — the idea that the Golden Rule isn't enough. Treating others the way you want to be treated only works if everyone around you is wired the same way you are. They're not. Treating people based on their drive is what actually builds trust, deepens connection, and eliminates the friction that quietly destroys relationships over time.
Woody also gets honest about something that hits close to home for a lot of men right now: comparison. Fueled largely by social media, comparison has become one of the primary drivers of depression and misery in today's world. When you're constantly measuring your life against someone else's highlight reel, you will never feel like enough — regardless of how much you achieve.
They also talk about what it looks like to use this framework in business — including why passion alone is a dangerous foundation to build a company on, and how focusing on the right systems and motivational alignment can make the difference between growth and burnout.
This is the episode that turns awareness into action. If Part 1 helped you see yourself more clearly, Part 2 will help you figure out what to do about it.
