The Toronto Maple Leafs open their six-game homestand with a 3-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth, and Zack Phillips is joined by Nick Alberga for another edition of Leafs Nation After Dark!
Jack Roslovic scored both goals for Toronto, extending his point streak to seven games, while Auston Matthews picked up two assists. The Leafs battled back to tie the game twice, but Nick Schmaltz's power-play goal midway through the third period proved to be the difference.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 33 saves in a much better outing, but Toronto's penalty kill struggled against Utah's dangerous power play, allowing two goals on three opportunities. Zack and Nick break down Bobrovsky's performance, the Leafs' special teams, and another frustrating night offensively outside of the Matthews line.
Plus, we'll discuss the controversial Andrew Peeke goal, Jim Hiller's lineup decisions, and the continued absences of John Tavares and Kirill Marchenko. Toronto has now lost three of its last four games and sits at 8-7-2 on the season.
