Growing up with culture shock and not fitting in, Manny describes a childhood full of being on the outside looking in. The teenage years and early adulthood find Manny getting relief in drug addiction as well as the chaos of running the streets. His journey into recovery leads him to find a clear higher power and the belief that he can make it out alive. The tools of the program become his lifeline to a better life.
