After having the presidency for 12 years, you'd think the GOP would be riding high but the base was angry that Reaganomics had made them poorer and that George HW Bush was more focused on "globalist" foreign policy than helping them keep their factory jobs. Pat Buchanan ran to represent that base. He was also a racist, homophobic, and antisemitic reactionary. Did Pat's 1992 run pave the way for Trump 2016?
