When Aaron Dorn walked away from a promising banking career, declined an opportunity at Vanderbilt, and accepted a commission in the United States Marine Corps, many believed he was throwing away his future. Instead, that decision helped prepare him to build one of Nashville’s most distinctive financial institutions.
After serving as a Marine intelligence officer, Aaron returned to Vanderbilt, earned his MBA, and founded Studio Bank. Today, he serves as chairman, president, and CEO of the Nashville-headquartered boutique bank, which has grown to more than $1.3 billion in assets.
In this episode of The Stephan Hogan Podcast, Aaron shares how faith shaped the defining decisions of his life, how his team raised nearly $50 million in investor capital to launch Studio Bank, and how he navigated concerns about his age and experience. He also offers hard-earned lessons on entrepreneurship, leadership, raising capital, building culture, overcoming rejection, and turning a dream into a mission.
This is a candid conversation about what it takes to earn trust, build an exceptional team, and create something meaningful enough to last.
