Singer-songwriter, producer and filmmaker Matt Costa joins the 805 Beer Cold Beer Surf Club with Conner Coffin for a conversation about music, surfing, filmmaking, and all the unexpected moments that helped shape his life. Costa shares how he is inspired by surf trips when coming up with inspiration for surf films like Burn, A Brokedown Melody, and other films with the Moonshine Conspiracy with Jack Johnson and Emmett Malloy. He opens up about his upbringing in Southern California, and the skateboarding injury that closed the door on his professional skateboarding career, but led to his music career. Matt also discusses previous collaborations with Jack Johnson and Brushfire Records, touring for massive crowds, and hints at a new cross-country passion project.
