This ‘art anxiety’ is reinforced by the concept, coined by the German thinker Walter Benjamin, of “the aura”, the "here and now of the work of art" understood as a defense of the unique art experiences ‘in the flesh’. The episode relies on his seminal book, "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction", and asks the following art questions: how does one experience art in spaces where there isn't any? How important is art as an object? If the art object ceases to be important, then what does art become?
