How does the global financial system cope with a turbulent world? In this episode of Global Shocks, Jan Eijking is joined by Maurice Obstfeld, former Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Maurice Obstfeld is a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and Professor of Economics Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. From 2015 through 2018, he served as Economic Counsellor and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund. In 2014 and 2015, he was a Member of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers. A leading macroeconomist, he has published widely on the international financial system and its resilience to crises and shocks.
