Welcome to ’60 Minutes or less’ - a podcast from Birthday Cake For Breakfast- where for episode 70, it’s a treat to feature an interview with vocalist Dara Kiely and guitarist Alan Duggan Borges of Irish noise-rockers Gilla Band!

For over a decade, Gilla Band have been wrecking heads on stages around the world and across various well received records, from their 2015 debut album 'Holding Hands With Jamie' to 'Most Normal' in 2022.

Ahead of releasing their new record ‘Pugnello’ this month - September 2026 - via Rough Trade Records, I got into it deep with Gilla Band when we spoke over Zoom, touching on their new record, as well as dealing with grief, mental health and Top Cat.
