For the latest episode of the CHART Talks podcast's season 4, we are delighted to present a panel discussion moderated by Karen Bro, journalist, author and art collector, in dialogue with Tanya Lindkvist, Director of Kunst På Arbejde, artist Marie Lund, Henrik Plenge Jakobsen, artist and part of the steering group, and Lars Daugaard Jepsen, Deputy Director of the Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Erhverv), and who heads the team of advisers and craftspeople responsible for reconstructing Børsen. All participants are members of the steering committee overseeing the integrated art programme for the reconstruction of Børsen following the 2024 fire. Together, they discuss the role of art in rebuilding the historic building following the fire of 16 April 2024.
Starting with Lars Daugaard Jepsen’s account of the fire and the rescue of Børsen’s artworks, the conversation goes on to consider how art can become an integral part of the building’s reconstruction. The panel also discusses the process of selecting artists for new commissions and the collaboration between artists, architects, craftspeople, and engineers. Marie Lund also introduces her ongoing work on a site-specific sculptural table for the Chairman’s Office, exploring materiality, function, and the relationship between the building’s history and its future.
