What happens when a lifelong reader, a passionate teacher, and a true Southern girl finally sits down to write her own stories?
Susan Gooch is an Arkansas author who loves her hometown of Searcy so much that it became the setting for her Carrington Series novels. Before writing full time, she spent many years as an educator, sharing her love of reading, writing, and creativity with her students. Today, she reads more than 200 books a year and introduces her followers to new favorites through her "Y'all Have Got To Read This" spotlight.
In this conversation, Susan shares how small-town life inspires her fiction, how her classroom years shaped her voice as a storyteller, and what makes a book truly unforgettable. She also opens up about her own favorite love story: the one she began with her husband on a blind date in high school nearly four decades ago.
If you have ever dreamed of writing the stories that live in your imagination... this episode is a warm invitation to begin.
