The Self-Sensing of Life with Peter Cheung On The Living Process Episode 54.
Host Greg Madison
Happy to welcome Peter Cheung from Hong Kong to The Living Process. Peter first found Focusing during his PhD research and this led to Focusing training and eventually teaching Focusing in China. Peter and his wife built an NGO dedicated to teaching Focusing and the Satir method of family therapy. Peter talks about designing and refining their way of bringing Focusing to elderly caregivers and offering Focusing in these centres throughout Hong Kong by training social workers. He also describes the Final Chapter Project: “Rediscovering Meaning, Love and Hope in Life’s Final Chapter”. This fascinating project involves very evocative experiences and a structured life review informed by Focusing. They are conducting a one-year pilot project for this end-of-life/life-death project, and preparing a facilitator’s manual.
Peter Cheung - Cheung Ka Hing Peter, is 80-years-old, living in Hong Kong, with studies in philosophy and theology, sociology and psychology. He learned Focusing during his PhD studies and has been a teacher, human rights organizer, Chief Editor of the Hong Kong Catholic Weekly, part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong, and for more than ten years a Focusing Certifying Coordinator.
