Ever get stuck in Luxembourgish trying to explain why or when something happens?

The tricky words are "well" (because) and "wann" (if/when). They change the word order, pushing the verb to the end of the clause.

Example:

  • Mäi Jong ass midd, well hien de Moment net gutt schléift.
  • Hatt ësst näischt, wann hatt krank ass.
