What if healing didn’t always have to feel like work? In this episode, we’re joined by Evin Terranova, founder of Inner Child Theater Camp, an adult musical theater experience built around play, creativity, community, and giving grown-ups permission to be fully expressed again. Evin shares how she combined her background in coaching and personal development with her love of theater to create a space where competition and perfection take a back seat to bravery, connection, and joy.
We talk about the stories so many of us pick up along the way: that we’re too much, not enough, not talented enough, or simply too old to play, and what can happen when we’re given a safe space to challenge them. Evin explains why play can be genuinely healing, how joy and nervous-system safety are connected, and why sometimes having a new, positive experience of yourself can be just as powerful as digging into the origins of an old wound.
We also get into the unexpected explosion of Inner Child Theater Camp, the community that has grown around it, and what it’s like when the thing you dreamed of suddenly becomes much bigger than you imagined. It’s a conversation about inner-child healing, worthiness, creativity, belonging, and remembering that play isn’t frivolous; it might actually be something we need.
