Learn Finnish by listening to the Finking Cap Podcast!
Finland is said to be the happiest country in the world, however, we have people here who don't have enough money to cover the basics like food. I wanted to make an episode about how food banks in Oulu work. In this episode of the Finking Cap, I interview Katja Suhonen, the food aid expert and director of the "hub" where food donations are sorted and distributed to different locations. This hub is called Prikkakeskus, and their operating model has proven to be so successful that the city of Oulu has made it a permanent service, starting from 2026.
After the interview, I point out a few Finnish words from our conversation and I explain them to you, in Finnish, of course.
The Finking Cap Club has lots of Finnish listening content, grammar courses and exercises, so if you're thinking of spending your summer learning Finnish independently, check it out.
