What if God answers a prayer… 25 years after you prayed it?
I’ve been thinking about the invisible deadlines we put on God. We pray. We hope. Maybe we even receive a promise or prophetic word. And without realizing it, we start deciding what the answer should look like—and when it should happen.
Then that window closes.
And we call it disappointment.
This summer, in the middle of real grief for my family, something happened that stopped me in my tracks. I found myself watching a scene I had prayed for as a teenager—one I had long ago stopped expecting to ever see.
It made me wonder: How many things have we decided God didn’t do simply because He didn’t do them on our timeline?
In this episode, we’re talking about the two expectations hiding underneath so much of our disappointment with God: how we think He should answer and when we think He should answer. And Scripture, it turns out, is full of people who had to wait far longer than we tend to remember when we quote the promise.
If you’re waiting for reconciliation, healing, provision, clarity—or something you’ve almost stopped praying for—this episode is for you.
Maybe God hasn’t missed the window.
Maybe the window was ours.
