Man accused of poisoning and molesting child / Gulfport secures major economic development expansion

A man accused of poisoning and molesting a child is behind bars. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office announced that 60-year-old Robert Earl Lofton was arrested on child abuse by poisoning and child molestation charges.

Shipbuilding company Gulf Ship is expanding operations along the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a $43.81 million investment. The company plans to create 121 new jobs at its existing location in Gulfport.
