Dunsinnan / From a working farm to a modern retreat, in the shadow of Macbeth's hill

Dela

At the foot of the Sidlaw Hills in Perthshire, Dunsinnan has been Sinclair family land for five generations. Above it rises Dunsinane Hill, crowned with an Iron Age fort and written into Macbeth as the place Birnam Wood marches on. It is still a working farm of arable, cattle and sheep, but its old buildings are finding a second life.

In today's episode, Molly sits down with Alice Sinclair to hear how she has turned part of a family farm into a modern hospitality concept - a Scottish timber cabin, a stone cottage, and a reimagined bothy - built lightly into the landscape they look out on. From generational change to low-impact tourism, this is a conversation about making an old estate pay its way for the people who come next.
