“You’re not just going on a holiday. You’re returning to your old home while living somewhere new.”
After travelling between Australia and the UK quite a few times, I’ve gradually worked out my travel essentials, so I wanted to share them in this episode.
This is my ultimate travel essentials checklist for long-haul travel, including the things I always have in my hand luggage, what I’ve learned about packing for very different climates and a few things that have become essential parts of my travel kit.
I’m also sharing my tips for going back to visit friends and family after moving to Australia, including the mistake we made on our first trip back and the one thing we now do instead.
In this episode
I chat about:
- The travel documents and essentials I make sure I have organised before every trip
- The things I always pack in my hand luggage
- Some of the health and technology essentials that have become part of my travel kit
- How I approach packing for long-haul flights
- Why travelling light can make a big difference
- My tips for travelling back to visit family after moving overseas
- Why your first trip back to your old home may not be quite what you expect
Whether you’re travelling to Australia or heading overseas from Australia, I hope this helps you feel more prepared for your next long-haul adventure.
