Hello Fluffle Fam! Today's episode is one I know so many bonded bunny parents have wondered about and are terrified of: what happens to the bond when one bunny needs to be hospitalized and the pair has to be separated? In an ideal world, both bunnies in a bonded pair stay together for all vet visits and hospital stays. However, that is not always possible. This has happened to us a few times and I’m here to offer some hope and reassurance for all bonded pairs who need to be separated! We recently went through this with Kumo after a middle-of-the-night emergency, and I'm walking you through everything: the decisions we made, why we chose to leave Roo at home, what Roo was like without him, the whole reunion process when Kumo came home, and the steps we took to ensure they were able to be together again without any issues.
