What if the greatest threat to your relationship with God isn't failure—but success?
In Hosea 9, Israel is celebrating abundance, prosperity, and harvest, convinced that blessing is proof of God's favor. But beneath the surface, their hearts have drifted. They've mistaken success for spiritual health, replacing affection for God with affection for lesser things.
In this episode, we'll talk about how it's possible to be successful in ministry while driven by pride. Or to pursue beauty, influence, or achievement instead of Christ, and how the things we love ultimately shape who we become. As Hosea warns, "they became as detestable as the thing they loved." What we worship always transforms us—either into the likeness of Jesus or into the image of our idols.
Though Hosea 9 contains some of Scripture's strongest warnings of judgment, it is ultimately a call of mercy. God disciplines because He desires repentance. His heart is to restore His people, inviting them back into the delight and intimacy they were created to enjoy with Him.
This episode will challenge you to examine your heart, recognize where your affections may have shifted, and receive God's invitation to return to Him today.
