This mini episode is a personal story about parenting repair, emotional regulation, and the moment my daughter apologized for being "a lot."

In this episode, I share what I told her: her excitement was never the problem, she did not need to fix my overwhelmed mood, and she is never too much. We talk about the messages so many of us absorbed as children- that we are too loud, too emotional, too enthusiastic, too sensitive, or simply "a lot"- and how those messages can follow us into adulthood.

This episode is for parents who want to help their children keep their confidence, self-worth, joy, and sense of self. It is also for every grown woman who learned to make herself smaller to belong.

We explore how to repair after losing patience, how to take responsibility for our own emotions without putting them on our children, and how to help the next generation understand this truth: you are allowed to be fully yourself.

Helping children name feelings, offering a calm response where possible, and returning to talk through a difficult moment when everyone is regulated can support emotional learning and connection. And knowing not only are they not ever "too much", but you aren't either.

Let me know how this lands for you on Instagram @encouragemomentco and if it resonated for you I'd be honored if you share it with someone it may connect with as well.
