An elite defense. An offense that keeps letting it down. How does Oklahoma get out of this cycle?

JP and returning guest Charlie tackle the Sooners’ offensive issues, John Mateer’s turnovers, injuries up front and the pressure on Brent Venables to get the offense right.

Then we go around the SEC: Tennessee’s statement against Alabama, Texas’ struggles with Arch Manning, Kentucky’s surprising run and a conference championship race with plenty left to settle.

We also get into the 24-team College Football Playoff debate. Could campus playoff games restore meaning to a postseason weakened by opt-outs? How much should strength of schedule matter? And would expansion actually keep more regular-season games relevant?

Plus, our SEC offensive and defensive player-of-the-year candidates and predictions for who reaches Atlanta.

SEC Smoke. No bias. Just smoke.
