"The Green Leaves of Summer” is an original song written and composed in 1960 to serve as the movie’s score theme for “The Alamo.” The music was delightfully composed by Dimitri Tiomkin. The lyrics were written by Paul Francis Webster, who did not mention anything about the historical moment around the Alamo. The combination of Lyrics and folk-type music did work for the movie's theme.

The song was recorded that same year by the Brothers Four, and a new hit was born for the World to discover an emotional attachment to the song. The movie "El Alamo" was another huge success.
