She never set out to become an author: a bedtime story for her kids grew into a 90,000-word mystery, The Mystery in Mapleton. In this episode, she shares how she self-published the book, created its cover herself, and now helps other writers navigate the process while working on a sequel she admits is hard to finish when new ideas keep appearing. A longtime Grayslake resident, school board member, former art teacher, and devoted pickleball player, she talks about the people and places that make the town feel like home.
