In this profoundly special episode, sorcerer, witch, and prolific diviner Alex Búho joins us for his first ever podcast appearance to discuss his newly published book: "Maldito Duende: An Accomplice to the Mexican Witch". Maestro Alex discusses his upbringing in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, studying brujeria, curanderismo, and the veneration of potent spirits such as Santissima Muerte and San Cipriano at the hands of numerous elders and his family. It is in this context of his multi-generational magical lineage and cultural upbringing that his encounters with the duende, a mischievous ally born of indigenous and Spanish roots, first manifest. Maestro Alex discusses some of his earliest experiences with duendes as well as what motivated him to write his new book, teases his future projects, and treats us to a rare glimpse into the art of the volador: the flying witch.
