People-pleasing often looks loving on the outside, but underneath it can be driven by fear, approval-seeking, and the belief that one mistake makes you a bad partner or parent. In this episode, I explain how achievement and approval can become impossible conditions for peace, why intellectual understanding alone does not change the pattern, and how the fear of disappointing people creates paralysis. Real connection requires trusting yourself, taking emotional risks, and learning that someone else’s feelings are not a verdict on your identity. Up until now, you may have had people-pleasing tendencies—but that does not mean people-pleasing is who you are.
