He: רחל ישבה בכיסא העץ הנוקשה בספריית בית הספר התיכון.
En: Rachel sat in the rigid wooden chair in the high school library.
He: האוויר היה מלא בריח הספרים הישנים, והשמש של סוף הקיץ נכנסה דרך החלונות הגדולים והאירה את המקום באור חם.
En: The air was filled with the scent of old books, and the late summer sun streamed through the large windows, illuminating the space with warm light.
He: היה זה ערב ראש השנה, והפעמונים של בתי הכנסת כבר החלו לקרוא למתפללים.
En: It was the eve of Rosh Hashanah, and the bells of the batei knesset (synagogues) had already begun to call the worshippers.
He: רחל הייתה נחושה ומלאת שאיפה.
En: Rachel was determined and full of ambition.
He: השאיפה שלה הייתה לזכות בתחרות הוויכוחים, כדי לזכות במלגה ללימודים בקולג'.
En: Her aspiration was to win the debate competition, in order to earn a scholarship for college studies.

En: The pressure was heavy, but the weight of expectations was even heavier.

En: She always feared she wasn't good enough.

En: The book I was looking for is missing."

En: "Of course, Rachel.

En: They sat at the side of the library and began to talk.

En: Noam offered new ideas and different ways to examine the topic.
