pat mAcdonald has had quite a career in music over the past four-plus decades. Starting out in the college bar scene in early 1980s Madison, WI, he and then wife Barbara K. progressed from The Essentials to Timbuk3 where their bandmate was a boombox. In 1986 they scored their first hit single "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" from their debut album Greetings From Timbuk3 on IRS Records. They even were the bar band in a major motion picture. Since Timbuk3's breakup in the mid 1990s, Pat has been busy making music as a solo artist, with melaniejane as Purgatory Hill, and with Eric McFadden in The Legendary Sons of Crack Daniels. Pat is one of the founders and organizers of the Steel Bridge SongFest and part owner of the Holiday Music Motel, both in Sturgeon Bay, WI. On top of that, did you know he collaborated with Cher?
