On the morning of April 15th, 2026, 27-year-old Carolina Flores Gomez was inside her apartment in Polanco, one of Mexico City’s most affluent neighborhoods. The baby monitor her and her husband had for their newborn baby boy was video and audio recording a scene that looked normal. It was Carolina with her mother-in-law, Erika, who had just came into town to visit, having some small talk. The video shows them talking and walking around the apartment while her husband and baby were in the next room. It looked like a normal interaction, but what Carolina didn’t know was that she was about to be betrayed in her own home by someone inside, and that it would be caught on camera.
