In this episode, Dr. Karen Fox, RN, CPNP, Psy.D., discusses what happens developmentally to intuitive adolescents and their psychic abilities, during a period we refer to as “the Shutdown.” She shares how anxiety, depression and even PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in teenagers, as well as normal and busy school and extracurricular schedules, can all contribute to a young person tuning out their intuition and psychic abilities. She addresses the importance of doing due diligence for a child’s mental, physical and spiritual health, and gives tips for parents, teachers and other clinicians who are working with sensitive or intuitive teenagers.
Dr. Karen Fox worked for over 30 years as a nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner before switching careers to her current job as a clinical psychologist. Her medical background and training in clinical psychology help her to provide a holistic approach to patients and clients of all ages. Her unique experience as a USAF veteran also allows her to understand the unique challenges facing military active-duty members and their families.
As an intuitive and psychic, herself, Dr. Fox works with teens and parents who are struggling with the issues that come with these types of abilities, including depression, anxiety, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and more. It is her belief that with gentle guidance, everyone can awaken and nurture their capabilities within themselves and face their challenges with love and gratitude.
