Hi, I’m indie fantasy author, Melinda Kucsera, and in this episode, Carolina Cardona joined me to talk about his fantasy book, The Plague Doctor & The Littlest Sister.
What’s it about?
The Plague Doctor & the Littlest Sister is a cozy gothic medieval fantasy about Agnes, an inexplicably plague-resistant nine-year-old nun who joins three exhausted plague doctors attempting to fight the Black Death with the very limited medical knowledge available to them.
What begins with herbs, dubious medieval remedies and a mysterious blue medicine, gradually expands into a story involving an ancient woodland being, a disgraced Templar knight, a convent with secrets, and questions none of them, not the physicians, the Church, nor even the supernatural beings who inhabit the forest, can completely answer.
At its heart, however, this is a found-family story about people continuing to care for one another in one of the most hopeless moments in human history.
