This week, I’m excited to be joined by Allen Johnson, the 1996 Olympic champion and a four-time world champion in the 110-meter hurdles. With an incredible career and such remarkable longevity, many consider Allen the GOAT of the 110-meter hurdles, the greatest of all time.

I met Allen in early September at the Diamond League Final in Brussels, where he was coaching American hurdler Jamal Britt, whom he’s been working with for the past two years.

In this episode, Allen looks back on his career, shares which title means the most to him and reflects on what allowed him to compete at the highest level for so long. He also opens up about some of the doubts he faced along the way and takes us behind the scenes of the psychological games athletes play in the call room before a race.

You’re currently listening to the original episode in English, but if you feel more comfortable in French, there’s also a dubbed version available in the podcast feed.

Enjoy!
