This field recording serves as a poignant testament to the enduring human transgressions persisting in Storheia and Roan within the Norwegian domain of Sápmi.

On the 11th of October 2021, the Norwegian Supreme Court rendered a verdict deeming the construction of wind farms in Roan and Storheia illegal—a continued affront to Sámi culture and a blatant violation of human rights.

Despite the passage of two years, inertia prevails. The Norwegian government, regrettably, neglects to enforce its own laws, thereby broadcasting a resounding message to the global community that indigenous existence holds lesser value than the mainstream.

This field recording, while not captured at Roan or Storheia, encapsulates the rhythmic cadence of a wind farm, illustrating its profound impact on nature. The transformation is not confined merely to the topographical and physical realms but extends to the metaphorical—a rapacious monstrosity, its voracious noise echoing the discord between progress and preservation.
