This episode is special in so many ways. From July 6th to 11th, downtown Ulaanbaatar was immersed in jazz music from all around the globe. As someone who loves music and the personal stories behind it, I just had to capture these moments. While there is a bit of background noise from the live atmosphere, these raw, touching stories from the visiting jazz musicians and students make it all worth it.
A huge thank you to everyone who shared their stories with me, and I feel incredible gratitude to have been part of the International Association of Schools of Jazz (IASJ) 2026 conference.
Note: This is Part 1! Stay tuned for Part 2, featuring conversations with Danilo Pérez, Ignasi Terraza, Sunny Kim, Massimo Cavalli, and more.
