Dr. LaToya Lockett, DNP, MBA/MHA, RN, NEA‑BC, TCRN, CEN, is an accomplished emergency nurse, educator, and healthcare leader with more than 25 years of experience. Originally from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, she brings the resilience, community‑centered values, and global perspective of her island upbringing to every facet of her work. She currently serves as the 2026 President of the Houston Emergency Nurses Association, where she contributes her leadership skills to advancing the profession and supporting emergency nurses across the region. Dr. Lockett is the Co‑Owner and Founder of Best Learning Solution (BLS), an education‑focused company dedicated to saving lives through high‑quality, practical training. Through BLS, she provides a wide range of healthcare certification courses, including TNCC, ENPC, AHA certifications, Stop the Bleed, Babysitter Safety, and Wilderness Training. As a certified instructor in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC, she brings deep clinical expertise and a passion for empowering learners at every level. In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Dr. Lockett remains actively engaged in clinical practice, working the night shift in an emergency department where she continues to deliver high‑quality patient care. She also serves in academia as a professor in the Northern Kentucky University Doctor of Nursing Practice program, mentoring and shaping the next generation of nurse leaders. Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Lockett is an avid traveler who explores the world both for leisure and through medical mission work. Her journeys have taken her to destinations such as Bali, Greece, and islands across the Caribbean, as well as mission trips to India and Jamaica. She also prioritizes wellness and staying active, participating in bootcamp workouts several times a week and embracing her love of running. She has completed two full marathons and numerous half marathons, reflecting the same discipline and determination she brings to her career. Dr. Lockett holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Northern Kentucky University, a dual MBA/MHA from Pfeiffer University, and a BSN from the University of the Virgin Islands. Her career reflects a commitment to excellence, lifelong learning, and strengthening communities through education, leadership, and compassionate care.
