It’s HALLOWEEN HUMPFEST ONCE AGAIN and in the classic style so each weekday is a fun-ass theme and this 3rd week of HERE THERE BE MONSTER MONDAYS is actually fun-ass. It evokes a myriad of emotions, actually, and it does so very impressively. Makes sense since this monster movie is directed by Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho. We’re talking his crossover Korean hit “THE HOST” from 2006. The hubris of man strikes again as military scientists dump chemicals into the Han river, four years later something is crawling out of it, eating people and kidnapping children. This bumbling family must do what it takes to get their youngest back and no “virus” or lobotomizing will get in the way but they might fuck some things up along the way. The monster is only the symptom in this unique Korean Kaiju story. Go find it and then come and find us, again, and we can talk about it together.
